Pizza Party
It’s a pizza party for adults!
Steven LOVES pizza, he could eat it everyday if I let him. We went to Orlando for his birthday this year so he just wanted to have a casual dinner at home to celebrate with my parents.
“Lets just make some pizzas”
...since I am unable to “just make some pizzas” I had to make it a little special for him so I made a make your own pizza bar, which could also be made as a board as well!
Its so easy and everyone loves it, being able to top your pizza with anything you want is fun at any age. I gathered some of our favorite toppings and a few new ones to try...
For the crust, our favorites are from Trader Joes. so easy!!! We also get the fresh dough from Publix, I think most grocery stores carry it.
Sauces
classic pizza sauce, Raos is hands down our favorite
pesto
balsamic glaze
hot honey
Cheese
Shredded mozzarella, I prefer the thick cut
Fresh sliced mozzarella or mozzarella pearls
Goat cheese, I find the crumbles to be easiest
Ricotta
Fresh grated parmesan
Toppings
Pepperoni
Sausage crumbles
Peppers and Onions
Sliced tomatoes
Black olives
Pineapple, yes it does belong on pizza ;)
Peaches, just try it
Arugula
Fresh herbs- basil and oregano
I ordered pizza boxes off Amazon (link) to put on the table, we used them as plates. I love less dishes :)
As for the decor, I love using natural elements whenever I can. I bought some herbs at Trader Joes and Home Depot and repotted them into some small planters I already had. I added the potted herbs, some tomatoes on the vine and garlic bulbs on top of the buffet table with a pizza paddle. Easy and useful centerpiece.
For a smaller crowd, you can make a pizza board as well. This is a really fun idea for a date night at home as well. Everything looks cuter when you present it on a board anyway :)
With the premade pizza crusts, and using an Ooni pizza oven (link) each pizza only takes about 2 minutes.
Steven always goes classic with shredded mozzarella and pepperoni, always extra sauce.
I am a little bit more adventurous with my pizza creating, I did mozzarella, peaches, goat cheese and a balsamic drizzle. Topped with basil and arugula after it baked. YUM!
